GOT QUESTIONS? WE GOT ANSWERS!

How do I use the site?

You sign up for a monthly membership that renews automatically. Once you log in, you have complete access to over 30 courses, containing over 100 video lessons. There are follow-along programs for new beginner, beginner/intermediate, and intermediate/advanced levels to keep you on track and make steady progress. There are classes in various techniques and choreographies, as well as lectures that teach the structure of the various dances. There’s also a private Facebook group so you can connect with the other members, share your practice plan, ask questions and be with your tribe!

How is this flamenco site different from the others?

My goal with this site was to present material in a way that was intuitive, adaptable and most importantly, usable. The videos are set up as if you were in the dance studio with me here in L.A. As you saw from the sample videos, they are shot from behind so you have both angles. (Haven’t seen them? Sign up here to view three videos from inside the studio.) Also, I have a mix of material for all levels from New Beginners through Advanced, technique and choreography.

What equipment do I need?

You’ll need an internet connection for your computer, tablet, mobile or television. For dancing, you’ll need a good pair of flamenco shoes and a dance floor. The dance floor can be something as simple as an inch think piece of plywood from the home improvement store covered with a coat of clear polyurethane.

What is the time commitment?

Of course, since these lessons are online, you get to choose how much time you commit to learning. However, you get out of it as much as you put in.

You would benefit to log in at least once a week to take a class. You can expect to make steady progress if you logged in at least three times per week. In the end, it’s a matter of priorities and what your goals are.

The lessons run 5-25 minutes long.

If you think of learning flamenco like learning a language or a musical instrument, that should put it into perspective and keep your expectations in check.

One thing to consider is what your ultimate goal with flamenco is. Do you want to perform? Then you’ll need to take classes or use this site very, very regularly. Do you just want to get some exercise and feed your passion a little? Then logging in to take a class at least once a week would be fine.

Remember, though, that there is the private Facebook group that really supports the members through community, encouragement and accountability.

I’m a new beginner, is this site for me?

Yes! There’s a program for new beginners that walks you step by step with the flamenco rhythm, marking and footwork.

I’m an advanced dancer, can I really learn anything new here?

There is material in the Online Flamenco Studio to challenge advanced dancers not only in technique, but in building aire and truly understanding the nuances of the music.

Can I download the videos?

The videos are available by streaming only. So you need an internet connection for your mobile, tablet, computer or television to access the Studio. Downloading the videos are not possible.

What do I do if I have questions about the material in the video lessons?

Easy! Post your question in the private Facebook group for the Online Flamenco Studio Community.

How often are new classes posted?

All the time! They’ll average a few every month so that you can make steady progress.

What if there’s a class I want that you don’t offer?

Let me know! I want to make sure you’re getting the classes YOU want! I’ll do my best to make it happen in a timely manner.

Can I share my membership with someone else?

Sometimes you might practice with a friend, which can be a fun way to use Online Flamenco Studio. However, sharing logins and their associated unlimited access memberships will result in account cancelation. Your account information, including your login is for the use of one person and cannot be shared. Thanks for your understanding!
