Meet Your Maestra,
Rina Orellana

Rina is a Madrid-trained professional flamenco dancer with over 25 years of experience and her own dance academy in Los Angeles for over 20 years — where she's taken complete beginners all the way to performing on stage at tablaos.

Since 2015, she's also been running the Online Flamenco Studio, a thriving membership with 60+ courses for dancers of all levels.

Her superpower? Breaking down the mysteries of flamenco into something you can actually feel and understand — without dumbing it down. She's seen it happen hundreds of times: a beginner who couldn't find the beat suddenly hearingthe 12-count for the first time. That moment never gets old.

She can't wait to share it with you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to have taken the Intro to Flamenco (4-Count Tangos) course first?

YNope. Both paths work. If you've done the 4-Count course, this is a beautiful natural continuation — your Tangos foundation will help the 12-count click faster. If you're starting fresh here, you're also going to be just fine. Plenty of my students begin their flamenco journey right here with Solea por Bulerías and do beautifully. You're not behind. You're right on time.

How long will it take me to learn this choreography?

The choreography is 1 minute and 27 seconds long. In my live classes I spend about 6-8 weeks on this material — once a week for an hour. But if you can dedicate 15 minutes a few times a week, most students finish in about 4 weeks. Go at whatever pace feels good.

What equipment do I need?

A reliable internet connection and a space to dance. Flamenco shoes are recommended — and if you have them, you'll want a proper dance floor. Something as simple as a piece of plywood from the home improvement store with a coat of clear polyurethane works great.

Is there music to practice with?

Yes! You can download the choreography music directly from the course site. There's also a link to purchase solo compás practice music — rhythm only, like a drum machine — which is incredibly helpful for drilling the 12-count. You can also find free solo compás for Solea por Bulerías on YouTube.

Can I download the videos?

The videos are streaming only, so you'll need an internet connection to access them. But you'll always have access — lifetime means lifetime.
