Flamenco Improv Foundations

Learn how to dance freely with confidence in this simple, structured intro to flamenco improv

You want to improvise in flamenco but feel intimidated...

Many dancers think that to reach the epitome of DUENDE, they must improvise with making everything up *on the spot* with some magically inspired movement.

They try it… and freeze. They forget how to even move!

Improvisation in flamenco IS NOT about being suddenly inspired.

It’s about building muscle memory, trusting the compás and the structure, and allowing yourself to listen and respond.

When the movements live in your body and you understand where you are in the letra, you stop guessing.

You recognize what you’re hearing — and you know how to move.

THIS is how improvisation becomes something you can practice and actually DO, rather than hope and pray for "inspiration!"
